HONORS SOCIAL STUDIES II

Assignment: A Biography

The summer reading assignment design is based on a self-selected biography, which must meet all of the following criteria:

-         Over 250 pages in length

-         About a famous or infamous American citizen, politician, soldier, etc. And their impact on the history of the United States

-         Major achievements must have been accomplished between 1900-1989

-         No pictorial biographies will be accepted

-         No young adult biographies will be accepted

-         No biography selected for a past class will count – example: a book from 9^th grade English or a selection you read last summer for Social Studies I

I.                    Notebook: For each chapter, take notes in your notebook on the following topics using the model on the back of this paper.  (If the book does not have chapters divide the book into sections of approximately 40-50 pages.) Your notebook, along with book, will be collected on the seventh day of the semester
